ISTANBUL. – The Surp Lusavorich (Saint Illuminator) Choir of Istanbul’s Armenian church of the same name performed the “Lord, have mercy” chant on the air of Turkey’s well-known SHOW TV. 

The concert was devoted to memory of the victims of the October 23 earthquake in Van, and it was entitled “Our Songs for Van.” Prior to its performance, the Choir’s conductor Hagop Mamigonyan made brief remarks, asking the Lord peace and compassion.   

Istanbul’s Lusavorich Choir was founded in 1929.
