We discussed the possibilities of the intensifying of the border delimitation process between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this in a joint briefing with visiting Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, which took place on Monday in Yerevan.

"The 13th session of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia, held in Tbilisi on January 26 of this year, during which the joint declaration on strategic cooperation was signed between Armenia and Georgia, which outlines an ambitious perspective for the further development of our bilateral relations covering all domains.

Today, my colleague and I had the opportunity to discuss possible and necessary steps towards the practical implementation of this joint declaration. Unconditional recognition of each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty is an essential element in that declaration. We discussed also the possibilities of intensifying of the border delimitation process between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia," Pashinyan noted.

Referring to Georgia becoming an EU membership candidate country, the Armenian PM said. "At the end of last year, Georgia acquired the status of a candidate for EU membership. Armenia reacted enthusiastically to that news, considering what happened to be an important event that will have a direct impact not only on our region, but also on Armenia-Georgia bilateral relations. The Republic of Armenia supported and continues to support Georgia's aspirations for EU membership."

According to Pashinyan, during his talk with the Georgian premier, he reaffirmed that Armenia assumes its part of the responsibility for establishing peace and stability in the region.

"We expect that the other players will show a similar approach. Armenia is ready to move forward in the process of normalization of relations with Azerbaijan based on three principles already known and agreed at the highest level between Armenia and Azerbaijan. That is, mutual recognition of territorial integrity and sovereignty based on the Alma Ata declaration of 1991, implementation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border delimitation process based on the same declaration, unblocking of the economic infrastructures of the region within the framework of the principles of respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of countries—ensuring equality and reciprocity.

The Crossroads of Peace project put forward by Armenia will become one of the future topics of our countries' strategic partnership.

We see that Georgia is not only interested in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also tries with active steps to contribute to that process, for which I thank our [Georgian] partners," the Armenian premier concluded.
