The United States supports the continued democratic development, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all countries in the South Caucasus; that is why the US is expanding its broad relations with Armenia. This was noted by the US Department of State—and in response to the request of the VOA Armenian Service.

It was related to the RAND corporation's analysis entitled “The U.S. Can't Guarantee Armenia's Security, Despite Azerbaijan's Threats, but It Can Help.”

The State Department noted that the US welcomed any bona fide engagement that brings peace and stability to the countries of the South Caucasus.

The Department of State added that they do not consider Russia as a reliable or conscientious ally or partner in the South Caucasus or elsewhere.
