Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by Anne-Laurence Petel, head of the France-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the French National Assembly (NA).

The PM welcomed the visit of the members of this interparliamentary friendship group to Armenia, and thanked them for their commitment to the agendas related to Armenia. Also, the premier emphasized the strong ties formed between the parliaments of Armenia and France, and stressed the fact of high-level intensive bilateral cooperation.

Anne-Laurence Petel, for her part, noted that the visiting friendship group includes representatives of all factions of the French NA, who have an unconditional political consensus of support for Armenia.

Subsequently, the touched on Armenia-France multi-sectoral cooperation, interparliamentary interaction, activities of French companies in Armenia, engagement in investment programs, and implementation of projects in infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and several other domains.

The processes taking place in the South Caucasus were discussed, too. In this connection, PM Pashinyan reflected on the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, and emphasized that the principles of this treaty were fundamentally agreed upon in the statement made within the framework of the quadrilateral meeting held in Prague on October 6, 2022. The possibilities of unblocking the regional infrastructure were also discussed. In this context, Nikol Pashinyan presented the Crossroads of Peace project of the Armenian government and its principles.

Views were exchanged also on the activities of the European Union (EU) civilian monitoring mission in Armenia and the further development of Armenia-EU cooperation.

Reference was also made to the humanitarian issues of Armenians forcibly displaced to Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the measures and plans of the Armenian government to solve these issues. In terms of addressing the needs of these forcibly displaced persons, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan underscored also the consistent assistance by the international community.
