BAKU. – Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mamedyarov met, in Baku on Friday, with Israel’s Minister of Infrastructures, Uzi Landau, Turan News Agency reported.

During the meeting, Mamedyarov also briefed the Israeli official on the Karabakh peace talks.

Afterwards, Landau was received by Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev.

The Israeli official’s visit to Baku is taking place under the guise of tense relations between Iran and the international community, linked with Iran’s nuclear program, Turan notes.

“Official Tehran is resentful of Israeli-Azerbaijani relations. Ever since the tension in relations between Ankara and Tel Aviv in recent times, relations between Israel and Azerbaijan likewise were put at risk. Nonetheless, Israel is one of the primary consumers of Azerbaijani oil,” Turan writes.
