“I am doing this so that the Republic of Armenia eventually becomes an independent state,” the PM told the Tavush Province residents…

I am doing this so that the Republic of Armenia eventually becomes an independent state. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at a meeting with Tavush Province residents on Wednesday.

In his speech, he specifically added: "I am convinced of this. I know that this can have a negative impact on my political career, but a leader is a leader in that when needed, he sacrifices his reputation his respect, everything for the sake of the state and the future. Armenia is a democratic state, for me democracy is more important than my dignity, than my future political career. Now that this youth is building a house in Berkaber [village], children should be born in those houses, there should not be a [military] trench in front of those houses, but there should be gardens, there should be fun and joy."

Pashinyan went to Voskepar village for the second time this year. The previous meeting with the Voskepar residents did not go smoothly. The topic of the meeting was handing over four villages of Tavush Province to Azerbaijan, to which the people of Voskepar expressed their opposition. Pashinyan told the villagers that these villages must be handed over to Azerbaijan, otherwise a war will start.

The Voskepar residents were not so dissatisfied with today's meeting.
