ETCHMIADZIN.- Karekin II received Romania’s FM Teodor Baconschi on Wednesday at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Catholicos mentioned that close relations between the two countries continue to develop and deepen, Holy See informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Romania is a soul mate for us not only because centuries ago Armenians found home there but also because Romania granted us Catholicos Vazgen I,”said Karehin II.

In his turn Romanian FM said he is pleased to be at a holy place like Etchmiadzin.

Karekin II informed Teodor Baconschi that next August he will visit Romania to participate in the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Armenian monastery in Suceava.
