Google celebrated 244th anniversary of Louis Daguerre, French physicist famous for invention of the daguerreotype process of photography, by creating his doodle on Friday.

Louis Daguerre was born on November 18, 1787 in a small town near Paris. He worked as a designer for the theater and partnered with Nicephore Niepce who produced the world's first permanent photograph.

Daguerre announced the latest perfection of the Daguerreotype, after years of experimentation, in 1839.

He died on July 10, 1851. His name is inscribed on the Eiffel tower.
