December 12 marks 84th anniversary of Robert Noyce, inventor of integrated circuit and co-founder of Intel corporation. Google’s doodle celebrates birthday of a man whose intentions are used almost in all offices.

Robert Noyce graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa, in 1953 he got his Ph.D. in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1956-57 Noyce worked for Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory but then left it with seven colleagues to found Fairchild Semiconductor corporation.

In 1968 Noyce together with Gordon Moore founded Intel corporation.
