French parliament’s bill criminalizing Armenian Genocide denial is a parliamentary initiative in the context of punishment for racist statements, said spokesperson for French MFA Bernard Valero.

French parliament’s commission on constitutional laws adopted on December 7 a bill introduced by Valerie Boyer, which supposes one year imprisonment or fine amounting to 45,000 euro for those who will challenge or extremely minimize the fact of the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

In response Turkey threatened to recall Ambassador from Paris.

In his turn, Valero recalled that Ankara is an important partner and ally of France. According to him, France is adherent to development of relations in all the fields, RIA Novosti reports.
