ANKARA. - Agreement on the construction of the Trans Anadolu (Trans Anatolia) natural gas pipeline was
formally signed Monday at Turkey’s Energy Ministry. The document was signed by the Turkish Minister of Energy, Taner Yildiz, and Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy, Natiq Aliyev.
The agreement envisions the construction of a pipeline which will transfer natural gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz 2 deposit to Europe.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Turkiye Petrolleri (Turkish Petroleum Corporation), and Turkey’s Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) are this consortium’s founders, Sabah daily of Turkey reports.
