YEREVAN. - US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern delivered in Armenian his Christmas and New Year message to the Armenians.  

“Hello, on behalf of the American people my best wishes to the Armenian people, on these beautiful holidays,” the Ambassador said in the video message which RFE/RL provided.

“My wife Libby and I live in Armenia for already three months. We thank the Armenian people for the warm hospitality. We are amazed at Armenia’s natural and historical values,” Heffern said.  

In his New Year address, the US Ambassador also noted that 2012 will mark 20th anniversary of the formal relations and partnership between Armenia and the United States, underscoring the bilateral relations between the two countries.

“Our common goal is peace, prosperity, democracy, and security in Armenia and the region,” the Ambassador stated. 

John Heffern concluded his short video message by extending the American people’s best wishes to the people of Armenia.
