YEREVAN. – In December 2011, Armenia’s 12-month inflation rate constituted 4.7 percent, which is the lowest indicator after 2005, National Statistical Service official Gurgen Martirosyan informed during a press conference on Wednesday.  

He also sated that the inflation rate of food products surpassed that of non-food items and comprised 6.1 percent. The prices of non-food items increased by 4.3 percent, and service charges increased by 2.9 percent.        

As per Gurgen Martirosyan, there was some price hike with respect to agricultural products, after December 20, 2011, and the increase in the prices of greens was an “extraordinary phenomenon.”
