YEREVAN.- Armenia can thank France with a symbolic gesture – purchasing French goods, said head of Consumers Association  of Armenia Armen Poghosyan.

“For instance, Yerevan municipality can purchase French buses. For French economy it is a drop in the ocean, as this contract will remain almost unnoticed. But morally it is important especially for us.

Approving a bill penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide, France put at risk a 13 billion euro trade turnover with Turkey. However, we can prove our gratitude to France buying even fifty buses,” he told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In response to a bill adopted by French parliament, Turkey threatened to suspend economic relations. French Senate will debate the bill on January 23.
