Russian PM Vladimir Putin went to Troyekurovsk Cemetery in Moscow to bid his final farewell to Gevorg Vardanyan, the legendary Armenian spy of the ex-Soviet Union, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 88. 

Putin placed flowers atop Vardanyan’s coffin, and conversed with his relatives.

Head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Mikhail Fradkov, as well as former heads Yevgeny Primakov and Sergei Lebedev, Armenia’s Ambassador to Russia, Vardanyan’s colleagues, and representatives of Moscow’s Armenian community also came to the Cemetery to pay their final respects to one of the most famous undercover agents of ex-USSR.
