YEREVAN. – An interesting situation is observed at the Armenian Women’s Chess Championship. Despite 6 victories, the newcomer of the tournament, Maria Kursova shares the first place with Anna Hayrapetyan having 5 scores each. Judge of the tournament Armen Nikoghosyan clarified the situation to the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

“Armenian national team representative Nelly Aginyan refused to continue participation in the tournament due to health problems in the sixth round. As she has held less than half of the matches her scores were annulled and Kursova lost one score as well. However, Kursova has a privilege over Hayrapetyan. First, she has one match in store and second, winning Aginian. Thus, Kursova will gain additional rating score,” he said.

The seventh round of the tournament was hold on Wednesday.
