YEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Hovhannes Sahakyan considers illogical behavior of its partner coalition member Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP). When the Elective Code was discussed, amended version was submitted to the Parliament in accordance with coalition principles, MP told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Our partners, Orinats Yerkir and PAP, signed and submitted it to the Parliament six months ago. Currently there have been no political changes as to amend and vote for it again. However, our partner joined to those wanting to amend it. It is not incomprehensive but illogical,” Sahakyan said adding no sense in changing the option of the Code adopted half year ago. Moreover, time is inappropriate as only two months have left for the parliamentary elections.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, parliamentary oppositional Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties and coalition member PAP have jointly turned to the Speaker Samvel Nikoyan and head of the Standing Committee of State and Legal Affairs Davit Harutyunyan to hold parliamentary hearings on shifting to 100 % proportional system.
