The Chairman of the Environmental group of the French Senate Jean-Vincent Place who was against the genocide law considers the letter sent to the French Senators by the Turkish Ambassador to France asking to sign a petition to the Constitutional council against the law criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide to be inappropriate and counterproductive, Nouvelles d’Armenie informs linking on France-Presse.

Place stressed that the letter is inappropriate by its form and content.

“We don’t need an ambassador to tell us what to do as French senators,” Place said.

Mentioning that most of his group members will sign the petition to the Constitutional Council he added that the ambassador has confused the role of the ambassador.

To remind, the Turkish ambassador to France sent a letter to the French senators who were against the Genocide law asking to sign a petition to the Constitutional Council against the Genocide law.
