ANKARA. – Turkish Star newspaper journalist Ergun Babahan commented on investigation launched against Turkey’s Minister for EU Affairs, Egemen Bagis, who denied the Armenian Genocide in Switzerland and condemned false appraisers of freedom of speech on this issue.

The Turkish journalist asks in his article where those appraisers of freedom of speech were when Armenian Agos newspaper chief editor Hrant Dink and Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk were condemned in Turkey for their statements.

“They are giving lessons of freedom of speech and human rights to the West. I also defend the opinion that 1915 events were Genocide. The Ittihat (Young Turks) gang made a decision of deportations and killed hundreds of thousands people in regions away from the eyes of the West. Denying those massacres is equal to defending fascism,” Babahan wrote.
