YEREVAN.- Armenia and Russia signed a protocol on Thursday as a result of the talks held during the visit of the delegation headed by Secretary of the Russian National Security Council Nikolay Patrushev.

Secretary of the Armenian NSC Arthur Baghdasaryan said the sides had agreed to develop cooperation in several fields. A working group will be formed to draft a new treaty in order to expand military and technical cooperation.

The sides will also deepen cooperation in the field of military-industrial complexes, establish a joint company and improve cooperation in the modernization of borders. In particular, the system in the Iranian border will be modernized.

In his turn Nikolay Patrushev thanked the Armenian side for warm reception stressing importance of cooperation in the mentioned fields.

According to him, the sides had discussed situation in the region and the states which are affecting the regional developments, adding that on general positions of the sides coincide.
