YEREVAN. – The heavy and long-lasting snowfall in Armenia caused several changes in the schedules of trains departing from the country.

As a result of the difficult conditions created at the Jajur-Mayisyan railway section, the Yerevan-Tbilisi train’s departure from Yerevan Station was delayed on Friday night. Consequently, the train’s passengers had to spend the night in the train cars. But the necessary conditions were established for them, and the train cars were further heated.

The aforesaid train finally departed from Yerevan on Saturday morning.

The heavy snowfall also disrupted the Vanadzor-Gyumri train’s schedule on Friday. The train resumed operations, following the snow removal activities, but later the given railway section was again covered by snow.

The snow removal activities continued throughout the night, and they are in progress at the Jajur-Mayisyan railway section.
