YEREVAN. – Armenia should sue Azerbaijan for spreading misinformation on the Khojalu events, political scientist Alexander Manasyan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“It is necessary to file a lawsuit against Azerbaijan for spreading misinformation regarding the Kojalu events. Many facts prove that the shooting of peace population was implemented by the National Front of Azerbaijan in a territory controlled by the Azerbaijani side.

The truth was revealed by Azerbaijan journalist Chingiz Mustafayev, who told the then President Ayaz Mutalibov. The latter advised not to make it public or his life would be in danger. The journalist was killed some time later,” the expert stressed.

According to him, Karabakh forces informed Baku of preparation of military actions for liberating Khojalu and asked to take away peaceful population through the humanitarian corridor. Azerbaijan had a chance to take the population away, and the then President instructed to do that, which never happened, the expert added.

Minasyan said that a Czech journalist Dana Mazalova told about videos, shot by Mustafayev. At first, when he had shot the killed, their bodies were not touched, while several days later Mustafayev found them mutilated.

“Who else could have done it except Azerbaijani troops, when the territory was under their control?” Minasyan said.

According to the expert, if the Khojalu events are made public, it would be an attack for Azerbaijan, as it will be revealed what the authority can do to struggle for the office. On the one hand, it fears Azerbaijani authorities, on the other, it makes them demonstrate aggressiveness.
