YEREVAN. – Armenian National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday voted against the parliamentary opposition Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties’ bill on changing to a 100-percent proportional election system in the country.   

As a result, 30 MPs voted for and 56 deputies voted against the draft law while 4 MPs abstained, Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informs from NA. 

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, at the parliamentary opposition’s request, NA on Tuesday started discussing the proposal for making changes in the Electoral Code and passing to a completely proportional election system. And in this connection, the parliamentary opposition Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties, and the non-parliamentary opposition bloc Armenian National Congress organized a rally on the same day.
