YEREVAN. – The government plans to prohibit the construction of new residential complexes in Yerevan downtown, Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan briefed at the Parliament on Wednesday.

As for the Mashtots Park situation, where the activists protest against installing trade pavilions, PM said that the Government’s approach is the same, there must be no permanent pavilions in the Park.

“The pavilions were temporarily moved from Abovyan Street to the park,” Sargsyan said.

 “We also plan to pay special attention to the protection of buildings having cultural and historic value,” he added.
