YEREVAN. – Armenia’s interstate highways are difficult to drive as of Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Selim Mountain Pass, the Berd-Chambarak and Verin Getashen-Madina highways, and the local roads of Verin Bazmaberd, Metsadzor, Ttujur, Nigavan, Lusagyugh, Saralanj, Chknagh, Norashen, Dzoraglukh, Jrambar, Sipan, and Avshen villages are closed due to snowstorm, black ice, and low visibility, the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.     

The Alagyaz-Tsaghkahovit Highway and the local motorways of Aragats, Apna, Tsaghkashen, Vardenut, Akhpradzor, and Makenis villages are difficult to drive.

There are strong winds at some sections of Yerevan-Goris and Meghri-Kapan highways, and in the vicinity of Lanjik village.  

Snow removal and road cleaning are in progress.

And according to the information received from Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department, as of Tuesday at 10 a.m., the weather has considerably deteriorated in Georgia; and there is low visibility and a danger of avalanche.

The Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, is closed.
