YEREVAN. – Armenia’s interstate highways and mountain passes are difficult to drive, for the most part, as of Saturday at 10 a.m.

There is black ice on some road sections, the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.     

Selim Mountain Pass, the Berd-Chambarak and Verin Getashen-Madina highways, and the local roads of Aragats, Lusagyugh, Saralanj, and Norashen villages are closed.   

There is a strong blizzard and low visibility around Aparan city.

The local roads of Akhpradzor, Makenis, and Yeghipatrush villages are difficult to pass. 

Snow removal and road cleaning are in progress.

And according to the information received from Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department, as of Saturday at 10 a.m., the weather has considerably deteriorated in Georgia; and there is low visibility and a danger of avalanche.

The Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, is open, but with some limitations.
