José Victoriano (Carmelo Carlos) González-Pérez, who was to become the painter Juan Gris, a founder of Cubism, was born in Madrid on March 23, 1887.
And in connection with Juan Gris’ 125th birthday, Google prepared a special homepage doodle comprising his works of Cubism.
Gris continued to develop the theory of Cubism. But a severe lung disease cut the renowned painter’s life very short, as he died on May 11, 1927, at the age of 40.
