YEREVAN. – Immediately following its publicizing, the ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP) election list—for the forthcoming National Assembly elections—was at the basis of lively public discussions, PAP MP Aram Safaryan said during a press conference on Wednesday, and added that he considered this list to be competitive.

In his words, PAP’s program, which was adopted in 2007, did not undergo any substantive changes, and, as per Safaryan, it will not undergo any substantive changes in the foreseeable future, too.

First, Aram Safaryan recalled that they still are a member of the country’s ruling coalition, and added: “Ever since its creation, the PAP functions in the political field on the basis of the slogans of civil solidarity, nationwide consolidation, [and] national unity.”

With respect to the occasional conflicts in PAP’s relations with the coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia, Aram Safaryan said: “We have been in favor of straightforward positions, and our positions, which differed from the others’ positions, were just as honest, straightforward, [and] simple.”

And reflecting on the upcoming parliamentary elections, PAP MP said they consistently speak in favor of holding free, fair, and transparent elections.
