YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday addressed with a letter to National Assembly (NA) Speaker Galust Sahakyan, and informed him that he has decided to recall the infamous Armenian-Turkish protocols from the NA, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.

“In his letter, Sargsyan conditioned this move by the fact that Turkey has not shown the political will to carry out the arrangements, has continuously laid conditions and distorted the substance of the protocols, and in fact, Armenia’s patience has run out.

“Within political circles, however, it is said that with this move Serzh Sargsyan paves the way also for forming an ARF-RPA [i.e., the formally opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party and the ruling Republican Party of Armenia] coalition.

“To note, the ARF [had] left the ruling coalition in 2008 because of Serzh Sargsyan’s football diplomacy [with Turkey],” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
