YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily has learned from the Armenia migration report, which the Armenian governmental and the international organizations had prepared between 2013 and 2014, 28.3 percent of the country’s population, or 870 thousand people, lives abroad, the daily reported.

“In this case, [however,] this does not refer to the people who have left Armenia and renounced [Armenian] citizenship. This refers to the residents [of Armenia] who are a part of the concept of ‘RA [i.e. Republic of Armenia] population,’ or the same proverbial 3 million presented by census results.

“Note that there are numerous noteworthy data in this document. Especially, according to a number in one of the tables, it turns out that the estimated number of the RA population has totaled 2 million 690 thousand in 2013, and when we subtract the emigration number in 2013 and 2014, it turns out that the estimated RA population is now 2 million 600 thousand,” Zhoghovurd wrote.
