YEREVAN. – Some representatives of the Government of the Republic of Armenia (RA) claim that it is not decided yet whether the country’s electricity distribution networks will be resold, or declared bankrupt after the international audit conducted there, since the government has “stood up” as guarantor for the US$ 220 million loan which the networks had taken, reported Hraparak daily.

“The Russian side[, which owns these networks,] wants for someone loyal to them to purchase the networks so that they are not declared bankrupt and do not pass to the discretion of the RA Government.

“Furthermore, there is information that the sales deal has already taken place, but they are not in a hurry to announce [this],” wrote Hraparak.
