YEREVAN. – In accordance with the property and income declarations for 2014, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (RA NA) has fourteen millionaires—in US dollars—, whose total amount of money makes up around 223 million dollars, reported 168 Zham daily.
“PAP [i.e. opposition Prosperous Armenia Party] former Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan continues to be the richest MP [in Armenia], with the amount of declared funds. As of the end of 2014, he has declared 33.9 billion drams, 30.37 million dollars, and 26.3 million euros.
“Samvel Aleksanyan is in second place with the amount of funds. This RPA [i.e. ruling Republican Party of Armenia] MP, together with his wife, has declared around 36 million dollars.
“The proprietor of the Yerevan brewery, Hakob Hakobyan, completes the trio of the richest MPs, with 9.6 million dollars.
“[A total of] 127 out of 131 MPs of the RA NA have submitted annual declarations of property and income for 2014. The amount of their total funds made up 62 billion drams, 66.3 million dollars, and 33.8 million euros,” wrote 168 Zham.
To note, one US dollar is currently equivalent to approximately 480 drams.
