YEREVAN. – Haykakan Zhamanak daily has information that the Government of the Republic of Armenia (RA) has already decided to cover the financial gap, which will be caused by the postponement of the electricity price increase in the country, with the money from the sale of the Vorotan Hydro Cascade, reported the daily.

“Until the end of the audit to be conducted at the ENA [i.e. the Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC], the government will have to pay to the ENA 7 drams for each kilowatt per hour of electricity; this will amount to 2.5-3 billion drams per month.

“It is noteworthy that RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan announced several times that these amounts will not be paid from the [state] budget.

“But the 180 million [US] dollars to be received from the sale of the Vorotan cascade is a budget measure, since it was to be completely used for the RA state budget,” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
