YEREVAN. – The copper concentrate exports from Armenia have increased by more than one and a half times in the first six months of this year, as compared to the same period last year, reported Haykakan Zhamanak daily.
“[A total of] 147 thousand tons were exported [so far this year], against the 95 thousand tons [the same period] last year.
“Due to an absence of a prospect for a qualitative development of economy, the emphasis in Armenia is put on the indiscriminate exploitation of mineral resources, [and] whose consequences will be dire,” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
