YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, recently awarded medals to several businessmen for their active assistance in the organization and holding of Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations, reported Zhoghovurd daily. 

“In other words, all those Armenian businessmen, who donated ‘cash’ money for the organization of the Genocide 100th Anniversary events, have a medal today. And it remains unclear why [famous American Armenian TV personality] Kim Kardashian and her husband, world-renowned rapper Kanye West, did not earn medals.

“The latter, of course, had not given ‘cash’ money, but thanks to them, the attention of the leading media of the entire world was centered on Armenia for about a week. With various estimates, Armenia would have spent close to 300 million [US] dollars to organize such a promotion.  

“We are not even speaking about [famous American Armenian musician] Serj Tankian and the [world-renowned American Armenian rock] band System of a Down. They likewise did not assist ‘in cash,’ thus they also do not have medals,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
