YEREVAN. – An official statement on President Sargsyan’s upcoming trip to Moscow on July 10 for a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin appeared on Armenian president’s website on Wednesday.

The statement is especially important, since it was much spoken about possible meeting of Sargsyan and Aiyev and the Karabakh issue in general, Zhoghovurd daily writes.

“There were reports about another trilateral meeting between Sargsyan, Aliyev and Putin will be held in Moscow on August 8 during which Kremlin will try to persuade the Armenian side to make concrete promises on concession within Karabakh settlement. So, we can assume that as a result of the events of the two last weeks, the Karabakh talks are suspended for uncertain time. Nevertheless, Serzh Sargsyan will leave for Moscow which proves Russia has no intentions to wait for a long time. The quesion how much time Serzh Sargsyan will win thanks to the armed seizure of police regiment in Yerevan, will be clear after his Moscow visit,” the newspaper writes.
