YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Chairman Raffi Hovannisian—who is declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted on February 18, but who claims to be the real winner in the vote—had proposed Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan and First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan to meet but, unlike Tsarukyan, Ter-Petrosyan turned down the offer, Hraparak daily reports.

“For what reason? We attempted to verify [this] from Heritage’s spokesperson Hovsep Khurshudyan. He said he did ‘not know and heard about it for the first time.’

As for a new meeting between Serzh Sargsyan and Raffi Hovannisian, Khurshudyan said, apart from the fact that they had invited Serzh Sargsyan to come to [capital city Yerevan’s] Liberty Square, there is no other prospect for a meeting at this time.

Nonetheless, our government sources claim that yet another talk will be held between Serzh Sargsyan and Raffi Hovannisian, but at the CC [Constitutional Court], [and] following the examination of Raffi Hovannisian’s petition [to declare the presidential election null and void] and the [respective] ruling,” Hraparak writes.
