YEREVAN. – With a constitutional reform back in 2006, then-President Robert Kocharyan de jure began taking Armenia on the road to a semi-presidential country, Hraparak daily reports.

“The last change, [that is,] the establishment of the institution of the Government Chief of Staff-Minister, is a continuation of this plan.

According to the well-informed, a constitutional reforms process will get underway within the next two to three years. The launching of the institution of deputy PMs likewise is among some changes. With the initial plan, there will be three deputy PMs [in Armenia] who will coordinate the security, economic, and social domains.

To note, today, the coordination of the security domains is under the jurisdiction of the President,” Hraparak writes.
