YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily learned from well-informed sources that, during the closed meeting with news reporters, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated that he does not plan on passing to a parliamentary system of governance, and the Constitutional reforms are not intended for this, the daily reports.

“He explained this decision with the NK [i.e., Nagorno-Karabakh] problem saying that parliamentary governance is not the right model in the case of an unfinished war.

“Zhoghovurd’s sources also said Sargsyan spoke about Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union. He said, unlike other countries, favorable terms were offered to Armenia, including in the matter of arms procurement,” Zhoghovurd writes.
