YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan left for Moscow, on a working visit, where he will meet with Russian Federation (RF) First Deputy PM Igor Shuvalov, and Eurasian Economic Commission Board Chairman Viktor Khristenko, Zhoghovurd daily reports.

“In fact, the Armenian PM will not meet with his Russian colleague, but rather solely with his deputy. And this, perhaps, may be considered a shameful fact, especially since Sargsyan had a telephonic conversation with [RF PM] Dmitry Medvedev on the eve and, according to rumors, Medvedev himself did not want to receive Armenia’s PM.

“Zhoghovurd’s sources claim that during the telephonic conversation with Medvedev, Sargsyan again asked for loans from the RF, [and] ‘heralded’ that they paid [back] the previous $500 million [loan from the RF] ahead of time.

“But he failed to convince Medvedev, and this is why he personally traveled to Moscow,” Zhoghovurd writes.
