YEREVAN. – “Armenia occupies first place in terms of easily starting business. But going out of business should be difficult,” Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, Zhoghovurd daily reports.

“And the PM’s words mean that if anyone dares to engage in business [in Armenia], he will become the eternal captive of the [country’s] authorities and he will not be able to save himself.

“The thing is that registering a business in Armenia is very easy, but the hellish conditions—the changes being made in the tax law, racketeering by tax and other law enforcement agencies, or by criminal elements, taking shares [from the business], etc.—emerge solely after starting the business” Zhoghovurd writes.
