YEREVAN. – The executive director of the Transparency International Anti-corruption Center in Armenia stated that Armenia is even behind some African countries in terms of fighting against corruption, Chorrord Ishkhanutyun daily reports.     

“Everyone knows that. But the expression of ‘fighting against corruption’ is an imitation, at least in Armenia’s case.

“They do not fight against corruption at all in Armenia; hence comparisons are out of place.   

“But it would be something else if we spoke about the level of corruption. Armenia definitely is in the leading positions in the entire world in this matter. Moreover, Armenia will only strengthen its leading positions.

“The ‘reforms’ of the government of [Armenian PM] Tigran Sargsyan create a wonderful opportunity for that. The African countries, on the other hand, can only benefit from the advanced track-record of Armenia [in this regard],” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun writes in sarcasm.
