YEREVAN. – Zhamanak daily has learned that, along with the government, changes also will take place in Armenia’s diplomatic corps.

“For example, Armenia’s Ambassador to Belgium and the EU Avet Adonts will be appointed Armenia’s ambassador to Russia.

“Adonts was appointed ambassador to Belgium in 2009. Before that, he was a deputy and a member of the Prosperous Armenia [National Assembly] Faction. After his appointment as ambassador, [however,] his membership in this party was frozen.

“According to some information, ex-PM Tigran Sargsyan will be appointed [Armenia’s] ambassador to Belgium and the EU, in Adonts’ place. He [Sargsyan] will have to coordinate Armenia’s activities with the EU and the European Commission,” Zhamanak daily wrote.
