YEREVAN. – According to scholar and psychologist Vahan Ghuyumchyan, who recently left Armenia due to the “lukewarm climate” created in the country, the main reason for emigration is not the people’s social situation, and the psychological factor plays a bigger role, Aravot daily reported.

“Ghuyumchyan himself had the opportunity to leave [Armenia] earlier, but he did not leave the country believing that our people’s spirit is high and they seek to craft an independent state, and this was his dream, too.

“But when he realized that the people have voluntarily enslaved themselves, leaving the country became inevitable for the scholar,” Aravot wrote.
