Irates de facto: Governors of Gegharkunik and Tavush regions to be replaced?
November 26, 2010According to the information at biweekly’s disposal, Governors of Gegharkunik and Tavush regions will be replaced in the near future. According to the sources, Generals will replace the incumbent governors. However, it is not clear, whether these replacements are conditioned by appointment of close people to Armenian President or a complicated situation in these border regions. The newspaper says this decision may account for improvement of RPA (Republican Party of Armenia) positions on the eve of parliamentary elections. It may be a two-in-one decision, as Governor of Gegharkunik region is close to leader of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan. Besides, it aims at improving security in case of war resumption with Azerbaijan.
