YEREVAN. – Large bets are placed these days in the bookmaking agencies of Armenian capital city Yerevan, and on the outcome of the games of the football 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.   

“Our reporter found out that the average amount of the bets [placed] is 50-60 thousand drams [approx. $121-$145].

“By placing bets during the Spain-Holland match, a football aficionado even won 3 million drams [approx. $7,281] 

“Many, however, leave the [offices of the] bookmakers with empty pockets,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
