YEREVAN. – Russia is interested in a conflict in Karabakh, but we, as neighboring states, should work to settle our relations, Azerbaijani military expert Uzeir Jafarov told Zhamanak daily.

Speaking about the recent escalation on the border and failure of Azerbaijani armed forces, Jafarov admitted the Azerbaijani side suffered losses.

“This is for the first time since cease-fire has been established. Azerbaijani soldiers lost vigilance that resulted in the tragedy. So, this is war, people have been killed and would be killed until the conflict remains unsettled. The situation on border is tense, but I think it is of temporary character, and soon everything will be ok. There are politically sensitive issues, many of them are not announced: the meeting in Sochi and other issues,” he said.
