Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber will temporarily take over the duties of President Ebrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash Sunday evening, ISNA News Agency reports Monday.

According to the constitution of Iran, Mokhber will carry out these duties for 50 days, until the new presidential elections.

The elections could be held in June or July, and they must be held by the special council consisting of three people.

Also, the Iranian government has assured that it will work without disruptions, added Press TV.
