VANADZOR. – The Armenian Police investigates the demonstrations and attack against the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly (HCA) Vanadzor office in Armenia. The results will be presented to the public.
As the press service of the Armenian Police informs Armenian News-NEWS.am, the Armenian Police has mentioned many times that the realization of alleged rights by personal means is not supported by the freedom of meetings because holding peaceful meetings does not include forced implementation of requirements by protesters. Such actions might lead to administrative responsibility.
“On Tuesday several NGOs came up with statements, which correspond to the above mentioned statements of the police. The Armenian police expects that such disposition will help to prevent further actions against NGOs,” the Police’s statement reads.
Earlier Armenian News-NEWS.am had informed that protesters attacked the HCA Vanadzor office on Monday. The reason of the attack was that the office had given permission to organize the Azerbaijani Film Festival on its territory.
