Russia backs Armenia-Turkey rapprochement and will further contribute to normalization process, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev stated at the European and Asian media forum, December 9.

“We have a positive position on Turkey's and Armenia's attempts to overcome the enormous problems that the 20th century faced by showing mutual restraint and search for compromise,” Medvedev stated. Azerbaijani Trend News quotes Russian President, as saying: “It is important to understand that Armenia-Turkey normalization is not directed against anyone, but it is done for Armenia and Turkey themselves.”
